SSOMA fitness    Youth Programs

Although martial arts can be fun and beneficial at any age, it’s not for everyone.

SSOMA has created plenty of opportunities for you and /or your child to keep active making it easier for you to make exercise a lifelong habit.   No matter what you choose, regular activity not only burns calories, but also strengthens your child’s cardiovascular system, builds strong bones and muscles, and increases flexibility. It can also diffuse stress, help them learn teamwork and sportsmanship, boost their self-esteem, and improve the child’s overall sense of well-being.

2015 Summer Camps 

SSOMA Camp:         

The place for FUN and being your best is SSOMA Day Camp, for kids ages 4.5 - 10. Our camp features kid approved themes, martial arts, outdoor activities, arts & crafts, dodge ball, games, and reading time. 


Dates: Monday, July 20th - Friday, July 24th

              Monday, August 17th - Friday, August 21st

Times: 8:30 am to 1:00 pm




2014 Summer Camps 



Martial Arts Movie Camp: 

During this week, kids ages 4.5-10 will really be able to bring out their creativity during the making of a ninja movie. They will be able to create their own character, costumes, and help out with the movie plot. At the end of the week, they will be able to bring home a copy of the movie!

(Must attend the full week)


Dates: Monday, July 20th – Friday,  July 24th

Times: 8:30 am to 1:00 pm







Intro to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Camp: 

This weeklong camp is for kids ages 7-13 and focuses on the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We break down the basics, history and philosophy of BJJ for beginners who would like to try a new martial art. No experience necessary!


Dates: Monday, August 10th – Friday, August 14th 

Times: 8:30 am to 1:00 pm 








Skills and Drills Camp: 

This camp focuses on Shotokan and is for SSOMA students who want extra training during the summer. This camp will also count towards student’s next promotion. 

No need to pack a lunch for this camp!


Dates: Monday, August 17th – Friday, August 21st

Times: 8:30 am – 10:30 am 




Zumbatomic Classes


ZUMBATOMIC  is a rockin' high energy fitness party packed with specially choreographed kid-friendly routines and all the music kids like to groove to in a group.

ZUMBATOMIC  is more than exercise. The goal of ZUMBATOMIC  is to develop a healthy lifestyle, to incorporate fitness as a natural part of children’s lives, not just a class that they attend once a week. While exercise is indeed a very important element of childhood development, ZUMBATOMIC  also considers the whole child.

 Developing a healthy lifestyle, therefore, includes learning leadership, respect, team work, pride, confidence, and responsibility, as well as developing coordination, balance, discipline, memory, and creativity.
